She was compassionate.
She was herself.

Then, came experience
and knowledge
She was still beautiful.
She was still gawky.
She was still smart.
She was still kind.
She was still compassionate.
She was still herself.

Soon,
    love tagged along.

She was prettier.
Sh was gawkier.
She was less smarter.
She was less kinder.
She was less compassionate.

She might still be herself.
